Review

The article investigates the modern understanding of the standards of advocacy. The author argues that without effective functioning of strong and independent legal profession existence of a democratic state and civil society is impossible. Special attention is paid to the standards of advocacy in the provision of the free of charge legal aid in criminal proceedings. Determined that advocacy settled numerous professional standards of the level of theoretical and practical training, compliance counsel to morality and professional ethics.
