This article examines the legal and practical features purpose of forensic examination to establish individual psychological characteristics of the suspect (accused) in criminal proceedings. It is about the need for legislative regulation of certain provisions relating to the procedure for the designation of the type of expertise to ensure the rights and interests of persons with disabilities mind. Reported that the psychological examination of persons suspected (accused) of committing grave and especially grave crimes of violence, can in some cases help to identify circumstances that have significance for a comprehensive review of court documents from their criminal proceedings and promote the purpose of just punishment. It is noted that the legal test to establish individual psychological characteristics of the suspect (accused) should be administered and conducted not in any proceedings of the commission of grave or especially grave crime of violence, but only when the circumstances so require appropriate criminal proceedings.
